A Center of Excellence in GIS/GIT

Potomac’s GIS/GIT faculty operate a GIT Center of Excellence that hosts conferences and events. You’ll study with instructors who are passionate about advancing this exciting field—and passionate about helping you achieve your goals.

Flexible Study Options

Earn your GIT degree in the heart of the nation’s capital, in Virginia, or online. You can also blend online and on-campus study—whatever works for you!

Geospatial IT Program Overview

Develop a suite of versatile skills that can help drive innovation and discovery in fields ranging from retail to weather forecasting with Potomac. Our GIT degree programs cover programming, remote sensing, data analytics, and more.

Establish a foundation of geospatial intelligence skills with our bachelor’s degree program or develop advanced capabilities with our master’s degree. Both programs feature flexible online or on-campus study and small classes led by instructors who have first-hand work experience with this powerful technology.

What You Will Learn

Bachelor’s Degree

Develop an understanding of geospatial information technology’s theories and practices with introductory coursework in geospatial principles, cartography, remote sensing, geospatial modeling, and more. You’ll engage in practical learning experiences that challenge you to put GIT to work developing solutions for government, business, and scientific organizations.
